Relay for Life is a fundraising event put on by the American Cancer Society that involves the community in rallying to help in the fight against cancer. This event involved “teams” that sell goods to help the fundraising and special performances by Homewood high school dance team and cheerleaders, among other performances. HOAA was there as a corporate sponsor and was involved in the walking event. The event begins with a “Survivor walk” around Homewood park and then followed by the “Caregiver walk” and after that, one member from each team walks the track for the length of the event.
